Frantic Serenity — Geometric Dance Party

ART 270 - Motion Graphics I

For this project, I had to pick a snippet of a song (preferably royalty-free) and make a 20 to 30-second video where a bunch of geometry was basically dancing to it. The movements had to match the mood.

This was where I could truly let my creativity go nuts. Around the time of developing this, I really liked some of the tunes from the KPM Library, and have heard them practically everywhere, so I felt it'd be a nice challenge to go with Laurie Johnson's “Happy-Go-Lively”, which is a mall-like, flowy, and peppy song. It was a really great way to exercise animating more rapid and livelier movements.
